January 2005 - Community Service Programs
The beginning of a new year is a time of renewal. It’s a new start, a fresh perspective, and the one time throughout the year when people expect change. Here at The Partnership our work focuses on change: guiding it, creating it, and implementing it. I am fortunate to have a strong support network of board members, investors, and volunteer community members to work with on issues facing our area. We are working to expand our duties and services, which has only been possible by taking advantage of some excellent volunteer community-service programs. read more


February 2005 - Internship Program
We have been fortunate in 2004 to foster a new partnership with the Monmouth College Business Department and found a tremendous friend in Professor Don Capener. Through efforts organized by Linda Lee Blaine, we established an advanced internship program for business majors by linking them with local businesses and also alumni mentors. read more


March 2005 - Monmouth Comprehensive Land Use Plan
A survey was mailed in mid-February to randomly selected Monmouth residents (approx. 20% of Monmouth households) to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the Monmouth community. This survey is part of the comprehensive planning process that the city of Monmouth is undertaking this year. The comprehensive plan is being conducted by the Western Illinois Regional Council, which is a regional planning agency serving six counties in west central Illinois with specialized technical assistance services. The comprehensive plan serves as a policy guide for decisions by local officials that affect growth and development over the next 15 to 20 years. read more
